Sept Guild Meeting!

Grab your knitting and a friend and join us for the Sept Knitting Guild meeting!  Tuesday, Sept 10th from 6-8pm at the Harvey County Courthouse (Newton, Main & 7th streets).  *Check our Ravelry page for more information and carpool details.

We have an exciting agenda, including photos from our recent Alpaca Farm Tour!  Once again, it is time to hold our annual CKKG Board Elections.  We have the 2 At-Large positions, one focusing on Education and the other on Membership.  These volunteer positions require only a few hours per month (we have a Board Conference Call monthly & the meetings).  If you are interested in helping, please email us!  You can also add your name to the ballot at the meeting.

This organization relies on our volunteer Board to help plan meetings, events and maintain the business-side of the guild.  Without our AWESOME members and Board, the guild would not exist!  THANK YOU!!   🙂

Sept CKKG Agenda

Charity Knitting:

The seasons are starting to change (well, it’s getting close) and the Farmer’s Almanac is predicting heavy snow this winter.  So, several of us have decided to knit hats for kids.  We will start collecting hats of all sizes and colors (and specifically purple infant hats) to be given out to local organizations, hospitals and charities.  *The Purple infant hats are due to be turned in Sept 27th.  Find all the details and free patterns on our Ravelry page.  We will have extra patterns at the meeting if you want to pick some up…they are great purse knitting since they fit anywhere and take no  time at all.

Can’t wait to see everyone again!

PS- Never been involved in a Guild?  Come check us out.  Grab a friend, your knitting and come see what we are all about.  We encourage everyone to bring a Knit Kit to guild meetings.   Feel free to forward this to your knitting friends!

Sept Guild Meeting

Good morning!

Hope your Monday isn’t starting off too hectic.  First, I want to apologize for the lack of communication when we canceled the meeting last week.  The Board was trying to post the cancelation info on all of our sites, but the storm was interferring with everyone’s internet and phone access.  Since most of our members travel 30 minutes or more for meetings, we struggle with finding the right balance…and early enough to inform everyone.  The Board will be adopting a procedure for cancelations and will let you know at the next meeting…since we are coming closer to winter (and the Farmer’s Almanac is predicting more snow than usual).  Sorry if you didn’t get the message in time, I promise that we will try harder!

Now, on to the fun and exciting stuff.  We are planning an awesome Guild meeting for September!  Mark your calendars for Tuesday, Sept 10th.  Everyone will recieve a special “thank you” gift as a small token of our appreciation for you!  Our time together is more than just a knitting guild meeting each month.  It’s one evening out of my crazy, hectic schedule to slow down, enjoy seeing everyone and getting more inspired.  Even though it takes quite a bit of work getting prepared for each meeting, I always come back home refreshed and re-energized from spending the evening with awesome people – from all across Central Ks.

I know a few of you will be out of town in Sept, so don’t fret…I’ll bring extra gifts to the Oct meeting for folks that were unable to make it!

Have a great Monday and I’ll see you in a few weeks!
